Anza’s philanthropic organization “From The Heart Women’s Ministries” has championed the economically challenged children of the high country for over a decade. One organization from outside the valley that From The Heart also champions is Birth Choice of Temecula.
Every year, From The Heart invites the community to help support their efforts by attending the annual luncheon, which will be held noon Saturday, Feb. 10, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 56095 Pena Road, in Anza. At the luncheon, a special speaker from Birth Choice comes to share their stories, and in turn, those attending bring unwrapped baby gifts to help Birth Choice recipients.
Price of the luncheon is $5 and an unwrapped baby gift – new and gently used items accepted – to be paid at the door. There will also be raffle opportunities offered. The luncheon will include a soup and salad buffet with a variety of desserts and beverages.
Birth Choice gives economically challenged women and their families needed help so they can choose life, instead of abortion. They offer counseling, ultrasound scans, prenatal and post-natal care as well as helping hand with the practical needs of new parents and their newborn children and up to age three.
Yearly, From The Heart meets the needs of more than three hundred local children by hosting various fundraisers. They hold rummage sales twice yearly as well as the fall holiday meal, which is well-known throughout the area. With these resources, the group provides the children with back-to-school supplies, backpacks, new shoes and haircuts. They make sure these children have presents for Christmas. In the spring, the group holds the luncheon in support of Birth Choice of Temecula and also awards two college-bound Hamilton High School seniors, a boy and a girl, with a special computer package. They also award a scholarship to an economically challenged, college-bound graduate.
