Deputies seek help finding carjacking suspect

Deputies are looking for a suspect that may have carjacked a vehicle from a woman in Rainbow on Jan. 21.

According to Sheriff’s Lt. Robert Haley, Maribel Blanco, a 29-year-old woman, was driving near the intersection of Rainbow Valley Blvd. and Old Highway 395 at approximately 8:30 p.m. when a man she would only call “Brian” got into the backseat of her car, and told her to get out.

“When she asked why, he hit her on the back of the head with a pistol,” said Haley. “She noticed that another white male got into the passenger seat and the two drove away.”

During the course of the deputies’ investigation, Blanco received a call, and she was informed that her vehicle was close to the border patrol checkpoint on “the highway.”

Deputies are still investigating the cause of the carjacking, and are seeking information regarding the suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s substation in Fallbrook at (760) 451-3100.

There is certainly more to this story. Brian just cannot get into Blanco’s car. Blanco had to stop the car first and allow him to get in. These two know each other. I can’t believe you would write this story prematurely without getting at least some credible information first.

Like comment #3 said it sounds fishy to me also. Sounds like she knew the person especially since she knew his name.

Comment #2 They will update the story as more information comes in. Be patient.

I would like to say thanks to The Village News Staff. If it were not for your reporting we have be in the dark to a lot of the stuff going on in town-other newspapers do not report the things I read here. Again, Thank you.

To Wow: There’s a lot of scum living in Fallbrook. We retired here not knowing and future people retiring and thinking of moving here should be warned. We walked in on Hispanics robbing our home and getting away with valuables. Never ever in our previous homes was this a concern and no one ever broke or walked into our home to harm or steal. Welcome to MexiAmerica Fallbrook.
