From the Heart provides 257 children with Christmas joy

Volunteers from across the Valley came to help From the Heart (FTH) gift give-a-way during December 2012. Approximately 257 children and 96 families were given a Christmas this year because of the open hearts of many across the Valley partnering with the From the Heart Christian Women’s Ministries who annually see to it that the area’s neediest children have a Christmas.

“This year we had the most kids needing help and the most volunteers ever. In the end we did not know if we were going to have enough presents for everyone. God came through and the gifts came in last minute and we had enough,” said Christy James, event coordinator.

This was despite record lows in donations, according to founder Linda Hart who accounts the events smooth running and success to the countless volunteers and two special women who spearheaded it this year, Christy James and Aurora Perez.

The Miller women, mom Brenda, and daughters Casey, Emma and Mary, find it a blessing to give in their own special way. This year they joined FTH, spreading cheer by passing out stuffed animals and other special presents. Something they have been doing together on their own for a while.

Families like Ann Gilmore’s ten children are especially blessed by From the Heart’s gift give-away. Mom Ann says, “What a blessing this has been. They are a blessing, not just today, but every day. They are awesome.”

You are invited to join the FTH women at their monthly pot luck luncheon, the second Saturday of the month at noon, to get acquainted. This month, the luncheon will be at Back Country Christian Fellowship. Directions: turn north on Bautista from the highway and turn right at the first dirt drive. From the Heart provides many services to the areas children. Come learn how you too can help and be a blessing.
